What is Electroluminescence?

Electroluminescence is a technology based on spatial resolution that allows a comprehensive diagnosis of PV modules.

Electroluminescence phenomena is given when a PV module is biased with a DC current. The PV cells “bright” along the near infrared spectral band and such reveals the presence of cracks or any other defect present in the module.
According to the defect type and severity, a power loss can be estimated in the module as well as the root cause of the defect identified.

Which are Celsos Electroluminescence advantages when compare with other diagnostics tools?

Identifies hidden faults in a powerful and unmistakable way.

Quick inspection evenmore when drones can be deployed.

OPEX saving in the long term.

Plant performance is enhanced and predictable.

O&M activities are optimized.

PV modules lifespan may be extended with reliability.

Celsos makes the difference.

How is the data processed?

Based on Artificial Intelligence models

Celsos software is a perfect combination of programming codes whose core is based on Artificial Intelligence models.

Computer vision and advanced deep learning architectures have been trained on proprietary data sets obtained over the past 10 years.

AI network models have been optimized to balance computing costs with expected accuracy.

Finally, defective modules are automatically verified against the customer’s quality acceptance criteria or Celso’s own criteria.

Which are the insights?

-Microcraks.

-Cracks of any size/severity.

-Scratches on the backside.

-Metallization issues.

-Soldering issues.

-Upstream issues like: manufacturing signatures, mixed cells, chipped cells.

-Degradation phenomena: PID, LeTid…in early stages.

-Damaged diodes, disconnected strings or modules, vegetation, soiling, etc.

How do I access the data?

In addition to digital reports for each inspection project, Celsos currently proposes a web interface for the delivery of insights.

Celsos is evolving towards a SaaS platform that will empower the client not only in the diagnosis of his photovoltaic plant but in the monitoring of a portfolio of solar assets.
